This policy explains how PrepCatapult ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you use our service (the "Service"). It applies alongside our Terms & Conditions. We handle personal data in line with Singapore's PDPA and, where it applies, the EU/UK GDPR. The Service is for users aged 18+.
1. Data we collect
- Account data — your email, optional name, and a securely stored password (and any guest identifier before you register).
- Purchase data — your orders and Case-Credit records. Payments are handled by Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details.
- Practice data — your responses, answers, scores, attempts and progress in the Simulator.
- Recorded video answers — used only to generate your review. Once your review has been generated, the raw recording is automatically deleted (and in any event within 7 days); we keep only the derived, non-identifying results (such as your score). Video is never shared.
- Technical & usage data — IP address, device/browser and log data, approximate location, and identifiers used for anti-abuse (e.g. per-IP limits, single-session, watermarking).

- Messages you send us (e.g. support).
2. How and why we use it
We use your data to: provide the Service and generate your scores and reviews (to perform our contract with you); process payments (contract); prevent fraud and abuse and protect our content — attempt limits, single-session, watermarking (our legitimate interests); analyse and improve the Service, including our cases, scoring and AI grading (legitimate interests); communicate with you about the Service; send marketing only with your consent; and comply with the law.
Wherever practical, we work with anonymised or aggregated data rather than data that identifies you — in particular for analytics, benchmarking and improving the Service. Such anonymised or aggregated data (which does not identify you) may be used, retained and disclosed for any lawful purpose.
3. Cookies
We use essential cookies to run the Service and may use analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie settings or your browser; where required, we ask for your consent.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers who help us run the Service — for example payment (Stripe), hosting, email, and our AI-grading provider — under contracts to protect it. We may disclose data where required by law, and in a business transfer (e.g. merger or sale). We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Your data may be processed outside your country (e.g. in Singapore, the EU or the US via our providers). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or transfer to countries offering comparable protection.
6. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above or to meet legal requirements. Raw video answers are deleted automatically once your review is generated (within 7 days), and we keep only the derived, non-identifying results. Account data is kept until you delete your account, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Where we no longer need to identify you, we anonymise the data and may retain it in that form.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (including watermarking of review materials) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port your data, and to withdraw consent. Under Singapore's PDPA you may request access to and correction of your data and withdraw consent. To exercise any right, email support@prepcatapult.com. You may also complain to your data-protection authority — in Singapore, the PDPC; in the EU/UK, your local authority.
9. Children
The Service is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
